Days 9 and 10 Limeuil with friends

We had a couple more days off the camino with a friend from Hebden,Patsy Fraser. Patsy and her husband James now live in Montmorillon between Poitiers and Limoges in a book town. James has an English bookshop and Patsy deals in antiques. Patsy arranged for us all to stay with her very old friend, Betty, who has a house in Limeuil on the confluence of the two major rivers of the Dordoyne. It really is a beautiful Bastide town. At aged 88 Betty has a remarkable capacity to drink and managed to drink us both under the table. She was an excellent host. Patsy was took us to see a magnificent Cistercian abbey at Coquin and on to Le Bogue, another picturesque town.
Lots of food and alcohol was consumed and Patsy went out of her way to drive us to the camino again outside Perigueux saving 8 km on what could have been a very long days walk. We can't thank Patsy enough.
