Day 14 La Cabanne - St Foy 13.3 Km

Chris Green and Linda Patteson met up with us today at La Cabanne and walked with us to St Foy la Grande. We offloaded a dustbin bagful of stuff for them to takde back to Hebden. Thank you so much C and L for that and keeping us company for un peu du chemin. We lunched at the Hotel du gare - paella and had the afternoon off - phew!!

Didé was adamant that he had a better route to Port St Foy than the official route. He directed us via La Virolle, through Le Fleix to Port St Foy. It was shorter and as it was raining and had visitors we took it. He assured us that the D120 was a quiet road and we could walk along it easily. We found ourselvse on tarmac throughout and walking along a very busy main road with no pavement. Hence don't take Didé's advice. He is a car driver not a walker.

The refuge was by the church of Port St Foy, an 8 bedded refuge, clean and welcoming. The lady who greeted us has a son living in Bolton, not a million miles away from Hebden. It was a good day though meeting with Chris and Linda and we had a day off from carrying the heavy packs. Mo
