Day 6 Thiviers to Sorges 17.5km

Life was so much easier today, the Belgian ladies took all of Jenny stuff and some of mine. It would have been great if it had not poured down yet again. Generally we have decided to follow the advice in the day of the life of Ivan Ivinavich! [not sure of the spelling] but basically it is to look for the good things that happen each day rather than dwell on the difficult things. So todays good event was seeing the ladies in someones garden under shelter using the garden table to eat their lunch. Their motto is 'If you don't ask you don't get' Annie says that pelerin [pilgrims like us] are entitled to ask for help. We on the other hand had sat under a piece of farm machinery whilst we ate ours.
Off to Sorges where the refuge was shut again - not open until 1st April. The mayor came to talk to us and blamed the Vezelay association for the problem. So it was accommodation hunting again. The Belgian ladies found a small hotel at Negrones, 5km before Sorges. They offered a special deal for the 7 of us. It was absolutely great. Jen and I had an attic bedroom with two double beds and a sort of sit up bath/shower. We had a superb meal that night, four course - total bill each was only 36 Euro for dinner, bed and breakfast. The hotel owner was also very jolly and welcoming.
Jenny had a huge problem with her i Phone. It froze and without it there was no camera, notes or anything else. More later on this from Jenny. I am still using my old but reliable 'pay as you go'
Paths today would have been very picturesque except for the rain. We are now in the Dordogne, rolling verdant countryside with pantile roofs. Dogs are getting on my nerves though. They seem to be at every house and they bark all the time. The French for that is 'aboyer' (always a useful phrase) Mo:
