Cafe con leche in Granon (and new hat - €4)
We had our bags transported again today. The effect is amazing.You can enjoy the scenery and end up at your destination with energy to enjoy the place. There were rolling green hills and snow covered mountains in the background. We intended to take the local bus the last 5km but no one told us that you had to stand in the road and flag it down. Goodbye bus , hello extra 5km alongside busy main road. Anyway it wasn´t too bad and the refuge has lots of space and a very cold swimming pool, excellent for our limb problems. See pics from Jenny. Said goodye to Gerda along the way who decided to stay at the refuge made famous by Paulo Coello. Just the two of us again. Doubtless we will be joined by others. Still in contact with Bernt and may catch up with him. Mo
At dinner we watched a German DVD with stills of the Camino set to music - Imagine, What a Wonderful World etc - it was beautifully evocative, spine tingling and we had to pinch ourselves to remember we are actually here doing it. There is a danger of becoming sensitised to the awesomeness - another beautiful view, another unbelievably ancient Spanish village, more interesting people and faces. So BE HERE NOW cos real life lurks in the wings.
We are definitely in a rhythm now - a peculiar rhythm of moving on, not knowing what tomorrow will bring,what we will see, where we will stay, who we will meet. Jenny x
