Day 13 Mussidan to La Cabane 20.5km

We couldn't face the 33.4km walk to Port St Foy but chose instead to stop off at a private home for the night. Didè and Noelle were very kind, they met us early afternoon on the road and took the contents of our bags. Didè came and picked us up towards the end of the day. Even so I was totally exhausted. The previous two days had been too long. Urgent action was required to reduce the weight of our sacks.

Another day of almost total road walking except for a short stretch through woodland and a pleasant sandy track.

Veronique - a Parisienne we met en route yesterday between Mussidan and La Cabane who was actually going slower than us because she has embroidery stops on the way!!!

There we met Veronique from Paris who was walking very slowly on the camino, expecting to do 12km a day for four days. She did embroidery as she walked. This was such a contrast to the French woman from Tours we met the day before. She was doing 50 to 60km per day! What can we say.

The Chambre dHote La Cabane

Didè gave us a talk on the Perigord region and told us about the four distinct areas of the Perigord - the Vert - the Blanc - to be continued. Mo
